Kari is a 1985 BSN graduate of Carlow College. She has spent the majority of her thirty-eight-year nursing career in the field of adult oncology at West Penn Hospital (WPH) – Allegheny Health Network (AHN). During this time, she has worked with several organizations such as Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and American Cancer Society, along with many internal committees such as the WPH Patient Life Committee and AHN Chemotherapy Council to ensure patients are provided a positive patient experience in the safest, evidence-based environment. Through both professional and personal experiences, she has witnessed how the physical, emotional and financial stressors of a cancer diagnosis can burden an individual and their caregiver(s) and her goal was to find ways to make these challenges easier to face.
Kari and her husband Rick’s favorite past time is enjoying any free time with their children Sean (Nicole), Benjamin (Shannon) and Kaci (Ben) and grandchildren Aiden and Paige. This usually involves sporting events, outdoor camping and hiking, or a relaxing beach vacation.
She is honored to offer her assistance in bringing the most positive, family-centered experience to those who will benefit from time spent at Jennie’s Home.
