Meet Jennie
Jennie Pié, a loving wife and mother of two sons, was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 1996. Her children were 4 and 6. The diagnosis led Jennie to become a stay-at-home mom, wishing to raise her children and promote togetherness with whatever time she had left. In doing this, she left her position with The Kroger Company, where she was the first female store manager in the Ohio Valley. Jennie had a way of being present wherever she was and to those she was with, she truly loved life, had a child-like disposition, and found joy in the little things.
Over the years, she fell in love with Sanibel Island, so much so that her family would begin to vacation there every year. The shelling, fishing, boating, eating, biking, and island atmosphere were hard not to fall in love with. Her family would begin to love the area just as much. Of all places in the world, Sanibel Island was the spot that supported Jennie and her family the most on a path to their Renewed Normal, not merely a new normal with cancer.

The difficulties of such a trial are unimaginable to us, but our hope is to share the beauty, peace, and tranquility of Sanibel Island with the families we will come to know and be blessed to serve.
We are honored to have a wonderful Board of Directors that share the same mission and have many unique and special gifts to offer to this work that we are so passionate about. The idea for Jennie's Home had its inception in 2014, soon after Jennie's passing, and it would have never become a reality if it wasn't for God working through the support of family and friends.
We pray that the story of Jennie will be an inspiration and that God will use Jennie's Home to bless and enrich many families.
